Swinging with Vito, 1985
Painted wood and hardware, 8' x 8' x 8'x '8' x 12'
Commissioned by the
New England Arts Biennial, University of Massachusetts Amherst, MA

Swinging with Vito, one of the festival  “Masterworks”, was designed so that no one person could "swing" alone. You had to have "partners" in order to swing. The kids figured this out pretty quickly, with a few skinned knees, while the parents questioned why anyone would build a "swing-set" where you would bang into the other person - few stopped their kids from swinging.
