Maze '77
90' X 45', nylon & wood
Roger Williams Park, Providence
Maze '77 was created as part of a Summer Solstice Festival held in Roger Williams Park. The piece was 90' x 45'. The maze was designed to be one of the entrance pieces into the festival grounds. Like any maze the idea was to find your way from one end to the other...the only difference in this one was that was that I remained inside and changed the panels (pathways) all day. Because no one could ever memorize the pathway, some became temporarily trapped inside - of course you could have simply rolled out -- but few did. Most waited for the pathway to change.
